A new menu option has been added to the General Authority Menu for controlling authority over MDC related functions. Option 17 shown below is the new menu.

The MDC Usage Authority Menu only has the one item listed on it for now. From here you can grant and revoke authority to enter text from the squad cars using the MDC software. Like other authority menus, to grant or revoke authority you first enter the user profile name at the top of the screen. To edit the authority list directly, use the “E” option. This will display a list of existing users along with what level of security they have.
In most cases an officer will belong to a group profile which has been granted access to view and inquire upon information in the system. This means that a specific officer is not on the list of people that have access, which also means there is nobody to revoke. So if you want to take away access from a specific officer while not affecting everyone else, use the “Exclude” option. This will cause just the user excluded to lose access while everyone else in the group will continue to have access.
