Replacement
Product Announcement
Paragon Software International, Inc. announces the availability of our Wireless 911 and Wired 911 (W911) CAD Interface module for third quarter 2005. Several of our customers are investigating or moving ahead with projects to implement wireless 911 capabilities moving toward a goal of being able to display on a map either the phase I radio tower location of an incoming wireless 911 call, or the phase II caller location or approximation. The existing CETI software and communications hardware are not capable of receiving the new information that will be available from your local (SBC, Ameritech, ATT, Verizon, Centurytel) ANI/ALI or 911 CAD port or modem. The 911 vendors using CML Sentinel software are providing a direct API to the Sentinel workstation as a replacement for the asynchronous ASCII CAD port that is currently used. This of course means new software needs to be built to work with this new communications protocol and receive the wireless 911 related information. To achieve this we will be building a new module called W911. To be able to communicate with CML Sentinel 5.0 and to receive the wireless 911 call information, including caller latitude and longitude, CETI must be replaced with W911 product. The new module will be based on IP communication protocols and provide space for storing the new wireless 911 related data. W911 will handle all the 911 calls wired or wireless.
The new W911 module will not require the communications server PCs that customers currently have in place with the CETI module to handle the asynchronous ASCII communications. This means your annual hardware maintenance budget in relation to CETI will drop to zero. For a smooth transition to the new W911 software, the old CETI software will continue to be supported for year or so to give customers time to move to the new software.
Upgrade pricing is available for the new module. The cost of the new module is based on your site’s population like almost all of our software. To reward our existing customers and demonstrate our commitment to retaining the value of your investments in our software, a discount for the original cost of CETI module will be deducted from the list price of the new module. The annual maintenance costs will be adjusted for the addition of the new module and reduced by the removal of the old module. This is site license software with no user or workstation quantity limits or restrictions. It can be used on all the Sentinel workstations. In other words, as many people can use this as you want without additional costs. For customer specific price quotes please contact our office.
