Paragon Software International, Inc. announces the availability of our Wireless 911 and Wired 911 (W911) CAD Interface module. The new module will be based on IP communication protocols and provide space for storing the new wireless 911 related data. W911 will handle all the 911 calls wired or wireless. W911 replaces older CETI module (CAD Emergency Telephone Interface). The older module will no longer be supported by CRIME as of July 1, 2007. At this point all customers need to have completed the move to the new module.
Moving into the 21st Century, the new W911 module will not require the DOS based communications server PCs that customers currently have in place with the CETI module to handle the serial asynchronous ASCII communications conversion. This means your annual hardware maintenance budget in relation to CETI will drop to zero.
W911 CAD Interface module supports a PSAP specific configurable data format interface. This means each PSAP at a site can have a different CAD data feed format from their respective vendor 911 vendor and is not limited to pre-defined data formats. This format can be configured on site if necessary, but setup is included with our normal support.
W911 CAD Interface module has built in geographic validation of the incoming 911 address data. Calls with bad addresses are flagged with a reason for the geographic hit failure. Such occurrences can optionally be emailed to an administrator for corrective attention. A search tool is available for scanning call history for various types of address failures.
W911 CAD Interface module also provides automatic entry of the incoming call information directly onto the CAD screen for creating the new incident. This means the dispatcher can eliminate another step from their 911 call handling process.
W911 CAD Interface module has several more programs for viewing the incoming 911 data feed. The call data can be viewed in a call detail screen that parses the 911 data feed and shows other linked data, such as that from the geographic data base. Also, a raw data screen is available for trouble shooting the call data stream. The data format layout is maintained on a screen that simultaneously shows the data structure and the referenced data parts. This ability provides a much easier to use method of maintaining the data format since you can see what information is being fetched as you changed the format definition.
Pricing
Upgrade pricing is available for the new module. The cost of the new module is based on your site’s population like almost all of our software. To reward our existing customers and demonstrate our commitment to retaining the value of your investments in our software, a discount for the original cost of CETI module will be deducted from the list price of the new module. The annual maintenance costs will be adjusted for the addition of the new module and reduced by the removal of the old module. This is site license software with no user or workstation quantity limits or restrictions. In other words, as many people can use this as you want without additional costs.
